Visa Letters

If you require an official letter of invitation for visa application purposes, please contact Daniel Shanahan (daniel.shanahan@northwestern.edu) with the following information: your full name as it appears on your passport, your institutional affiliation, your country of residence, and the title and format of your accepted submission (if applicable). Letters will be issued on official SMPC letterhead and sent within five (5) business days of request.

We also encourage all international travelers to review current U.S. entry requirements well in advance of the conference. Entry requirements and procedures can change, and processing times for visas vary significantly by country of origin. Useful resources include the U.S. Department of State visa information page and your country's U.S. embassy or consulate website.

We recognize that the current U.S. policy environment may raise concerns for some international participants. We encourage anyone with questions about their specific situation to consult an immigration attorney or their institution's international office, as they are best positioned to provide guidance tailored to individual circumstances.
