Banquet

BANQUET DRESS: summery urban casual, no jeans (no white tie either!)

The banquet, on the evening of Thursday, August 2, 2007, will be in Le Nouvel Hotel where the largest block of rooms has been reserved. Le Nouvel's banquet rooms are flooded with natural light and overlook beautiful gardens with full accessibility, where you may relax in the open air and plot future research together.

Cocktails and canapes at 6:30 p.m.: One drink is included with the price of the banquet, and a Cash Bar will be available. You must have your banquet nametag to be admitted to the event, as well as the "drink" ticket, to claim your drink.

Main meal at 7:15: A sit-down three-course dinner, with a glass of wine (continued cash bar available for any additional drinks) and all the trimmings. No pre-set table assignments: you may sit anywhere. Please put your nametag visibly at the place you choose, so the waiters can see your menu choice. The vegetarian meal will be prepared with no animal products. All menus will be free of nuts.

MENU: Mediterranean salad; Main course (see below) with breadbasket, butter, ice water; one glass of white wine with the meal (continued Cash Bar service at the tables for anything else); Dessert--Intense Sorbet, raspberry and citrus. Salad and sorbet will be entirely vegetarian/no dairy.

MAIN COURSE CHOICES:

Chicken Provencale, with herbs in a light tomato sauce, OR

Veal in white wine with rosemary, OR

Nouvel Hotel's Fabulous Vegetarian Lasagna.

Conviviality until 11:00: live music and dancing--cut loose to the retro-rock sounds of Concordia colleague Craig Morrison's group VINTAGE WINE!! Surprises musical and otherwise (toasts, roasts and skits all welcome--just let the organizers know, please, c/o cbeckett@alcor.concordia.ca).
